Senior Software Developer

CIS (Pvt) Limited | Software House is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer (VB 6) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in VB6 programming and a proven track record of developing and maintaining complex applications. This role is crucial for supporting our legacy systems, and the developer will be responsible for both maintaining existing software and contributing to the migration of VB6 applications to modern platforms.
Location: Tipu Sultan Road, Karachi
Responsibilities:·
Design, develop, and maintain robust and efficient applications using Visual Basic 6.·Analyze and modify existing software to correct errors, improve performance, and upgrade interfaces.·Provide ongoing support for legacy VB6 applications, ensuring minimal downtime and high performance.·Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.·Ensure seamless data flow between VB6 applications and newer technologies, including databases and APIs.·Evaluate the current VB6 applications to determine the best strategy for upgrading or replacing them.·Work closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, IT support, and business analysts, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Skills:·
Experience with migrating VB6 applications to modern platforms (e.g., .NET, C#).·Knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.·Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.·Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server·Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.A minimum of 4 years of experience in VB6 application development.Strong understanding of Visual Basic 6 programming language and environment.Proficiency in database management, particularly with SQL Server or similar databases.Experience in debugging and resolving issues in legacy codebases.Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
