Engineering Software Developer

This position will work closely with the Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain DE Tower, our structural analysis software for design of self-supported towers, guyed masts and poles. Overall duties include design, testing and deployment of new features using Visual Studio. 
 
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
 
Use the current versions of American, Canadian, Eurocodes to assist with developing a complex tower loading and tower analyses modules.
Play a role in completing the global analysis module that will provide a realistic flow of forces and displaced geometry across complex tower geometry.
Support existing and develop new interfaces for data input, preliminary results and analysis results.
Development and maintenance of databases and reports supporting DE Tower
Play a role in guiding the design of DE Tower User Experience, reviewing and improving on existing systems, making recommendations for use of new technologies and methodologies.
Work with development team and user base to design, test, deploy and debug software and data changes.
Software testing to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
Desire to take ownership of technical projects.
Enthusiasm for hands-on development in a dynamic environment
Work well with team of developers and users.
 
Qualification:  Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
 
Experience/Skills:
 
Training in Computer Programming or Computer Science is preferred; or equivalent work related technical experience.
3+ Years of structural engineering experience, experience in wood construction industry preferred
3+ Years of User Interface development
3+ Years of experience in application development using Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 or newer.
Strong knowledge of VB.NET, knowledge of other programming languages is a plus
Strong knowledge of object-orientated programming and design
Experience with graphics engines (such as AutoCAD) a plus
Experience with deploying applications a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills along with solid programming, task analysis, code design, debugging and documenting skills.
Ability to work well with others and make contributions within a team environment.
