Software Developer

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for writing and coding individual programs from specific requirements.
• Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents.
• Investigate, analyze and document reported defects.
• Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
• Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses.
• To develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan.
• Train staff to use all new developments and applications identifying time constraints, gathering key resources and conveying needs and requirements in plain English.
• To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime (both SQL Server and Oracle interface).
• Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL and Oracle development.
• Performs related duties as assigned

Skills / Attributes Required:
• Demonstrable Software Development experience
• Knowledge of database architecture and design
• Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong knowledge of .NET based technologies
• Strong database knowledge specifically SQL Server or Oracle.
• Experience of Transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures.
• Demonstrable evidence of analyzing and documenting complex business processes.
• Experience of testing Windows Software Applications / Database applications produced using VB, C#, SQL Server & Oracle.
• Proven Web and Database Development experience.
• A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work.
• Ability to work well within a team
• Results orientated with good communication and interpersonal skills
• In depth knowledge of Web Development technologies - to include HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software development
• organization required.
• Strong understanding of the software development cycle.
