To establish a robust system for CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome engineering in rice that allows for the generation of stable targeted mutations, insertions and allele replacements. To facilitate the the adoption of CRISPR-based genome editing approaches in IRRI research and development (R&D) with aim improve speed and precision of trait development pipelines.
The position is based in IRRI Headquarters Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. Globally Recruited Staff benefits can be found here.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Generate and test a variety of components used in genome editing approaches for applied rice R&D
- Generate and test the utility of multiplexed sgRNA delivery systems
- Generate and test the utility of replicon-based nuclease and template delivery sytems
- Generate and test spatio-temporal regulation of Cas9 delivery systems
- Generate and test the utility of split Cas9 systems
