Job Responsibilities
Seeking an experienced, creative, and multi-talented Senior Web Writer to lead and execute our brand's creative direction. One must have the ability to grow within a start-up environment and a fast-paced medium.
The Web Content Writer is responsible for overseeing content requirements and providing copy deliverables (instructional copy, help copy, error messages, and the occasional branding message) across the project lifecycle. Collaborating closely with the Interaction Designer and the Visual Designer, as well as people from our Functional Design and Creative Services groups, you will be critical to defining the copy on our web site.
As a Web Content Writer, you will be required to:
• Develop content strategy based on business objectives and user needs
• Work with design and development team to translate requirements and business goals into messaging, site navigation, labels and content organization on the user interface.
• Write information deliverables (instructional copy, error messages, interface copy, help copy) relevant to each project.
• Work with Marketing and Creative Services to meet the editorial tone, style and voice of all content.
• Work with legal team to make sure site copy is reviewed and approved.
• Review the QA environment and work with QA team to resolve bugs related to incorrectly implemented copy.
• Work within and continue to develop the style guide and editorial procedures.
• Ensure content conforms to Search Engine Optimization best practices
Required Qualification
We are looking for people who are ready to make change, highly motivated, flexible, and eager to learn and willing to be a part of a collaborative team.
• 2-4 years experience in creating/writing content for Web or other digital media
• Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite , and working knowledge of design tools such as Visio
• Thorough understanding of how to communicate effectively in a digital environment.
• Ability to translate use cases and conditional logic into accurate messaging.
• Expert level attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, as you will be working with Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, Engineers, and Product Managers.
• Ability to deliver clear , succinct , and information driven copy , as well as creative branding copy (keep in mind this is not a marketing copywriter position)
• Ability to work offshore
• Degree in related field , such as English , journalism , technical writing , or library science
