Under general supervision, applies an extensive knowledge of engineering and design principles and practices in areas related to Fire and Gas Detection and Alarm, Security, Access Control, Video, Telecommunications, Intercom and Public Address systems. Candidate must be capable of new system design and assessment and integration of existing systems. System design includes the use of fiber optic, wireless, and copper cabling systems. Understanding of addressable (IP and otherwise) technology and impact to design. Familiar with supplier equipment design and installation techniques.
Project responsibilities may involve: planning, scope preparation, code search and application, coordination with Owner, Contractors, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and other design disciplines, cost estimating (material and engineering), scheduling (construction and engineering), site surveys, investigations, system design (fast track and detailed including specifications and drawings), contractor and vendor qualification, and construction support/management.
