Job Description
DU Fixed Data Network.
Terminate various forms of telecommunications and electrical wiring and cabling including copper and fiber optic cabling, patch panels, and wireless access points to ensure proper and reliable connections of various electronic equipment.
Complete daily assigned work orders within the DU SLAs and Installation Standard requirements
Promptly report/escalate any site issue
Employment Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Cable/Telecommunications equipment installation.
Exceptional customer service attitude & ability to communicate effectively required.
Must have a professional demeanor and the ability to work independently and effectively.
Educational Qualification:
School Certificate (Year 10) or equivalent.
Knowledge of Arabic Language an advantage
Data Networking Certification (eg Cisco CCNA) an advantage
Valid UAE Driving Licence an advantage
Experience with computers preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of Category 3/5/6 cabling, fiber optic cabling, termination and testing
Knowledge of basic electronic theory as it relates to essential duties.
Relevant knowledge of personal computer hardware and software.
Ability to utilize software (i.e., ping tool) to analyze network connectivity.
Ability to use the signal level meter and various test equipment to perform essential duties.
Ability to interact with co-workers and customers in a positive manner and accept constructive feedback.
Ability to communicate professionally, effectively, and courteously with customers and co-workers.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot cable equipment and wiring
Must be able to read test meters, instruction manuals, and other documents.
Must be able to distinguish and identify various colors, which identify TV components, jacks, outlets various wiring and cabling required for installations.
Must be able to work independently in tight spaces (i.e., attics, crawl spaces) and in high places (i.e., rooftops, ladders).
Responsible for installing, relocating, disconnecting, repairing, troubleshooting and auditing cable service and ancillary equipment.
Respond to requests and answer customer questions in a professional and courteous manner.
Properly operates and maintains tools and equipment.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of customer premise equipment and services listings in order to provide information to customers.
Prepares and maintains logs, reports, certificates, and other related documentation in accordance with company and departmental policies.
Maintains, organizes and stocks vehicle with the proper equipment in order to perform required duties.
Ensure Any unused material is returned to store
Follow departmental installation/service policies and comply with standards.
